Whitney Tomlin studied Interior Design at the University of North Alabama. She had a life changing experience at age 20 and recommitted herself to her relationship with Christ. It was at this point that her life began a drastic turn away from selfish ambition and dreams of ‘the big life’. Since then, Whitney has had three children. Looking for a way to stay at home with her children and still use her God-given artistic talent, Whitney picked up painting in December of 2009. Since then she has used painting as a form of worship, asked God for wisdom in her learning, and tried to lift Christ up and give the Glory to Him. Within her three year career as an artist, Whitney has been featured in ’Florence Times Daily’, ‘Athens News Courier’, 'The Decatur Daily', as well as, the online learning magazine ‘Literacy Head. Whitney’s painting ‘Grace Meets Need’ is also up for consideration as the cover of ‘The UPPER ROOM’ devotional magazine. She has collectors in Birmingham and Atlanta, as well as Mansfield, TX; Seattle, WA and Wasilla, AK. Whitney has recently started participating in juried exhibitions in the southeast region. Whitney’s painting, ‘Procession of the King’ won an award at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center: Embracing Art Exhibition. ‘Procession of the King’ is one of four paintings Whitney has completed for a new collection she is working on for her first collective body of works entitled, ‘The Life of Christ’. Once completed Whitney will be exhibiting this collection at multiple galleries and museums across the south and up the east coast.
